Brutus,

Data sharing and havjng one voice in raising concerns.....

Examples : health problems or disease outbreak ---- immediate info dispersal so that the others w/in the locality can do measures

Fly control ---- mag-usap kayong mga magkalapit farm then do it together

perfomance comparison, some can learn, some can teach, some can be aware of the pitfalls or the disadvantages / advantages of a certain integrator, feed brand, medications, etc

marami pang iba as long as all are cooperative & active in the organization

who knows ? later on if you band together, and kung really malakas ang grupo, can negotiate with some medicine / vitamin / other poultry items to the suppliers to lower prices dahil BULK ORDER na kayo

Re: BOUNTY contract growers

I ordered 300 DOC from Bounty Fresh colored broiler.
Encountered problem.
1. They say that I have extra 2 chicks per hundred, all I got was the exact order of 300 Day Old Chicks.
2. Applying the same procedure with my previous grows, they are slow grower. Imagine, they are already 12 days in brooding and yet their weight still at 100 grams, supposed to be they must be at an average of 200 grams. Siguro, ang ibinigay nila sa akin ay native chicken as in native talaga. I am very much disappointed of the Bounty Fresh Chicken, kaya siguro maliliit ang mga manok ng CHOOKS TO GO because of this.

Re: BOUNTY contract growers

Re: BOUNTY contract growers

inrij ;

   2. if you have smaller chickens at 12 days, please check other management factors such as temperature, floor space, feeds, water supply
   3. for the 6 heads variance, baka naman nadale ka noong nag-deliver ?
   4. ang Chooks to Go po ay hindi galing sa colored chicken, ang sinasabi ninyong maliit ay baka yong pinakamaliit na size nila, 4 po kasing sizes ang Chooks to Go ..... and sino man ang makatikim ay sasabihing : Napakapakapakasarap !

Every time nagbabakasyon ako sa Pinas, Chooks to Go kaagad hanap ko.......

I'm sorry po, but, if they really want to do business sana ay maayos, kasi binabayaran naman ng tama. Mahirap kasing umulit sa kinuhanan kung hindi maganda ang nakuha, first time pa naman ako sa kanila.
Wala hong problema sa temperature, floor space (mas spacious pa nga sila ngayon), feeds (used the same brand B1000), at yung drinks nila ay same process din sa nauna kong alaga.

I still believes in Bounty Fresh.

Re: BOUNTY contract growers

My bounty fresh chicks at 30 days already giving signs of better gain weight, unlike on their 3 weeks of brooding which was, they seems to be a slow grower and around 50% of them have that traits. And they are more resistant to decease especially that the weather in our province is too humid during day time and cold during night time, not so bad. But it would be much better if all of them is fast grower.

I think, what we need is an association of contract growers and small raisers... then mag pa affiliate na lang sa UBRA.  We need this group so that we can have a representation sa local government... to seek assistance, like what happened  the previous "Typhoon Frank" na 70%, if not 100%, sa mga poultry dito sa amin were badly damaged... assistance in a form of soft loan and others.

59

Re: BOUNTY contract growers

UBRA was formed because of the need for representation and coordination. The predecessor of UBRA was CACPRA ( incidentally, I and Lourdes Po also from Negros were members of the starting group ).  The CALABARZON COMMERCIAL POULTRY RAISERS ASSOCIATION was started by 6  groups ( 2 from Batangas and 4 from Laguna ) then eventually grew to include more independent raisers, Foster Foods included.

We started inviting members north of Manila and when more members joined outside of Calabarzon, the name was changed to United Broiler Raisers Association.

Aside from what you stated, another advantage of an association would be "purchases in bulk", pwedeng-pwede kayo mag-negotiate to lower prices of anti-biotics, medicines, vaccines and other related supplies.
Also, the vital exchange of information will be very fast, in cases of disease outbreaks and other problems.

But make sure that the grouping will not be used to be a springboard for complaints especially of consistently bad growers.

BAVI was not accepted by the Philippine Association of Broiler Integrators ( PABI ), due to an objection by another big integrator that is why it joined UBRA instead. I am very familiar with most BAVI people , also of SMFI, and many UBRA members that is why I know what I am writing about.

Re: BOUNTY contract growers

Tantumski,

Thank you for the information shared.  I am interested in having an assoc. for the very reason of co-existense... Gusto ko Happy lahat!  Walang lamangan at the expense of others...

61

Re: BOUNTY contract growers

whitegold,

the best thing for you to do is talk to fellow poultry farmers ----- it took us ( Cacpra ) also several months to finally get together since before the talks, each and everyone of us were eyeing each other as competitors

the operative word here is also CO-EXISTENCE ...... I have been an employee of 3 integrators, I have also been a private contract breeder manager, a contract farmer and finally a commercial farmer. The safest way is really go into contract, steady ang income as long as walang hanky-panky on both sides ( company & grower ), walang sakit sa ulo sa marketing, and most of all, maliit ang cash out.

in Malaysia, i was also the one who established the contract farming scheme of broilers in the previous company I worked with, pare-pareho lang, kung minsan lugi ang farmer dahil may problema sa feed raw material, kung minsan, napakasarap ng ngiti dahil sobrang ganda ang performance but performance really depends on the farmer ( or kanyang poultry boys ).

remember the 5 major factors :

Breed Potential ------ lahat ng breed sa Pilipinas ngayon ay magaganda ang potential

Chick Quality --------- kung masama, first week lang yan

Feed Quality --------- maganda dapat, kung may sumasama, hindi kagustuhan ng kompanya

Bio-Security ---------- nasa farm people na ang bola nito

Management -------- this includes ventilation, proper feed distribution, water system and the
likes, na kontrolado na rin ng farmer, and most of all ----- Attitude of the

Re: BOUNTY contract growers

Tantumski,

Thank you for your words of wisdom!

What we need here is improvement of our frequency of meetings.  We CGs and our integrator met only once or twice a year. Hindi nga namin kilala some of our CGs.

As business partners dapat madevelop yung culture of cooperation... magtulungan for the good of everyone... sharing of best practices among us CGs and an open minded integrator's management.

64

Re: BOUNTY contract growers

the bigger the integrator the less you will see them.
i have an CG meeting once a month for my CG, but we are small compared to bounty.

Re: BOUNTY contract growers

I don't call them poultryboys. I refer them as Flockmen.

remember Genghis Khan the warrior succeeded not because of his physical attributes, but he knew how to manipulate his men.

poultry boys, flockman , caretakers ------- no matter what you call them as long as they have pride in their work and the owner / boss / proprietor gives them respect, they will perform well

Re: BOUNTY contract growers

Mga BAVI CGs,

Kamusta harvest nyo this past few weeks? Maybe due to erratic weather condition, feed quality or DOCs quality.
